How to Play

Vegas Slots for PalmOS plays exactly like a real slot machine (the ones in Las Vegas anyway.)

Your cash is displayed at the top of the screen. Think of this as the money in your wallet, or the coins in your bucket. It does not include the value of any credits in the machine. If you run out of money, you'll be automatically given $100 more. Or you can start over any time by selecting 'New Session' from the menu.

Inserting Money

There are two ways to insert money into the machine:

1) Tap the 'Insert Bill' button to put a bill into the machine. The money you insert will be deducted from your cash and converted to credits.

2) Tap the coin slot on the machine to insert a coin. This will be added to the 'coins played' and wagered on the next spin. The amount of one credit will be deducted from your cash.

Buttons

The buttons on the bottom of the screen will light up when they are active, and be dim if you cannot press them.

Cash/credit
Cashes out your credits from the machine.

Bet 1
Bets one credit.

Spin
Spin the wheels. Only lit after you've wagered at least one coin/credit.

Bet Max
Wagers three credits and spins all in one button. Only lit if you have enough credits to bet three.

NOTE: The page-down button will act the same as the bet-max button.

Paytable

The paytable is displayed at the top of the screen under the cash display. Whenver you win, this display will update to show you the payline being awarded.

You can tap on the payline display to switch to the full paytable view. Tap 'OK' in the paytable view to return to the game.

NOTE: The page-up button will also toggle the paytable display.

Machines

Vegas Slots contains several slot machines to choose from. To switch to a different machine, either tap the "Quit" button in the upper right corner of the screen when it is lit, or select the "Slots | Choose Machine" menu item.

When you switch machines, your credits will automatically transfer to the new machine.

Preferences

Payouts
Choose between True payouts, which causes the machines to pay out nearly identically to their counterparts in the casinos, or Extra High Payouts, which causes the machines to pay artificially higher than normal (win more often.)

Denomination:
Changes the denomination of the machines. If you have credits in the machine when you change the denomination, they will automatically be cashed out.

Sound volume:
Select the desired volume for the sound effects. The "Game Prefs" option uses the global game sound setting from the Preferences application.

Reel Sounds:
Select the desired sound effect for when the reels are spinning.
