SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

"Matching Hearts" works on the systems based on PalmOS 4.0 and later platforms that support screen resolution 320x320 and 65000 colors: Sony Clie PEG-SJ30, PEG-T665C, PEG-T650C, PEG-NR70, PEG-NR70V, PEG-T600C, PEG-T615C, PEG-T625C, PEG-N770C, PEG-N760C, PEG-N750C, PEG-N610C, PEG-NZ90, PEG-NX70V, PEG-NX60.

This game works also under PalmOS 5.0 and later: Palm Tungsten T and others coming in the near future.

INTRODUCTION

In all games your goal is to score high by removing from the board as many hearts as possible. There are three skill levels of the game: Novice (four colors), Expert (five colors) and Master (six colors). Every level brings some special tricks and different strategies of playing.

It's rather difficult to classify this game. This is surely a board game, it's puzzle, it's a strategy (each player can choose his own strategy to score a great number of points). So, the genre of this game you can choose for yourself...

Try all the games and we are sure - you will find several games that suite your taste. This collection of games will keep you busy for quite a while.

DOWNLOADING

To download "Hearts", use the standard Palm DeskTop HotSync process or equivalent to install Hearts.prc on your device.

Attention! For a perfect work of the game please install: for Sony Clie - HeartsClie.prc, for PalmOS 5 - HeartsOS5.prc.

PLAYING THE GAME

Your goal is to score high by removing from the board as many hearts as possible. When the game starts, the board is filled with hearts of different colors. Choose a heart of a certain color so that there was at least one heart of the same color near it. Click on this heart and it will burst and also blow up all its neighbours of the same color. The remaining hearts shift upwards or to the center to fill the gap if it is possible. The more hearts explode, the more points you get. If you shoot out all the hearts of some color, your score doubles. The game ends when you burst all the hearts, or if there are no pairs to explode. The points will grow in arithmetical progression - 10 points for the first heart from the group, 20 for the second and so on.

You can play "Matching Hearts" in three skill levels: NOVICE, EXPERT and MASTER.

NOVICE - board is filled with hearts of four different colors.

You can find the game under this icon on your device.

Splash screen

However good-looking it is, after a hundred launches you are going to be sick of the splash screen. That's why you can interrupt it, just pointing with stylus at any place on the board.

Window "Menu"

You can call Menu right from the game, clicking the button Menu on your device. It also appears at launching of the game.

CONTINUE - appears if you have an unfinished game.
NEW GAME - launches new game. Attention! If the game is not finished it will be interrupted without any warning. Be careful not to lose your game. Also, there is option AUTORUN for game (see below).
DEMO - launches game in demonstration mode.
OPTIONS - game options.
HELP - here you can receive short help and information about us.
TOP 10 - here your best results, which you can publish on the net, are stored.
GREETINGS - the form for entering the greetings info (**).
REGISTER - the form for entering the registration info (*).
MORE GAMES - here you can see the advertisement for our PalmOS games. To close advertisement window just tap on it by the stylus.
EXIT - to quit the game (***)(you can quit the game clicking the button applications from any window of the program).

(*) - these items will be removed from the Menu after registration (**) - these items will be appeared in the Menu after registration (***) - after you pressed 'EXIT' button advertisement window will appear. To close this window just tap on it buy stylus.

Attention! All windows except the main one are dialogs. You can leave them using buttons YES - , OK - and NO - .

Window "Effects"

There is a possibility of slow run on 33 MHz processor devices. For run acceleration, you can set up as low or turn off graphics effects. Game and interface effects change independently. There are three modes of effect entrance:

OFF - all effects turn off (all windows appear and disappear right away)
LOW - minimum effects (windows appear and disappear with animation by symbols)
HIGH - all effect turn on

Also you can change effects in the "OPTIONS" window. This window will appear every start of the game. To turn off this window, set up flag DO NOT SHOW AGAIN. You can to turn on it again in "OPTIONS" window.

Window "Options"

You can set up your preferences in the window "OPTIONS". To change the option's value, just click the appropriate option name

SKILL LEVEL - here you can change the game level (novice, expert, master)
SOUND - here you can enable or disable the sound
MUSIC - here you can enable or disable the background music(**)
VOLUME - here you can tune the sound volume (low, medium, high)
INTERFACE EFFECTS - here you can change the interface effects (off, low, high).
GAMEPLAY EFFECTS - here you can change the game effects (off, low, high).
AUTORUN - the option that allows you to start the game without the splash screen and menu (after the program launching you go directly to the playing field) (*)
EFFECTS REMINDER - turn on/turn off appearing of effects window on the every start of the game.

(*) - these options are work in the registered version of the game. (**) - these options are available on the SONY CLIE devices only.

Window "TOP 10"

You can look at best game results in this window.

NOVICE/EXPERT/MASTER - this button displays the results for different skill levels

PUBLISH - this button opens the window with the code for publishing the best result on the Web

Window "PUBLISH"

Shows the information needed to publish the best result in the chosen level on the Web. Attention! Please be careful when filling the code in the publish form at our site.

Window "Help"

To see the next page in the help you can tap 'NEXT' button or press PageDown key.
To see the previous page in the help you can tap 'PREV' button or press PageUp key.

Window "GREETINGS"
It contains the greetings information that appears after the game finished. Enter your greetings informations into the three fields. All fields has room for 20 characters each, including spaces. Using the virtual keyboard or digitizer, you can enter letters, digits, a period, a dash, a space and a commercial at. You can choose the line tapping it with the stylus, the cursor (a blinking dash) will show the line where you are now.
Typing is done by means of the virtual keyboard, where the special buttons mean:

BSP - backspace (deletes of the symbol before the cursor)
CLR - deletes the whole line
SPACE - space symbol
