1. Introduction

FIFO stands for "First-In, First-Out." You can train your memory and also oblivion. Train your capability of oblivion to forget useless things and memorize a lot of important things!

FIFO has the following features:

You can set difficulty by changing speed level and the length of FIFO.
FIFO has variety of symbols. You can add extra symbols.
You can use the Sony Jog Dial.
Support high-res bitmap for Palm OS 5 and Sony CLIE.

2. How to install

FIFO requires Palm OS 3.0 or higher.

2-1. Install FIFO program

Please install only one of the following files depends on your device:

2-2. Install extra symbols

Installation of extra symbols is not mandatory. Please install your favorite symbols depends on your device (Please refer the table in section 4 for the kinds of symbol):

3. How to play

3-1. Rules

FIFO means "First-In, First-Out." In this game, you take first out your memory, which you put first into your head.

A game starts by tapping on the "TAP HERE TO START" area.
1 - 4 character(s) (or marks, illustrations) appear at the center of screen one after another. Memorize the characters.
After the characters were shown for the times in FIFO length, recollect the first 3 characters and input them by tapping the input buttons. (Jog Dial is also available for Sony CLIE.)
Input the second 3 characters after the next is shown, input the third after the next ...
The score for one time is different by speed level, FIFO length, and the kind of symbol.
In case of Escalation mode, a game starts at 1 column question and it levels up 2, 3, 4 columns by degrees.

3-2. Layout

The answer is shown when it is game over.
In case of Escalation mode, "Esc" is shown at the Mode area. "Fix" is shown in 3-column fix mode.
The tap area to start appears when it is needed.
Tap "Sound volume" area to change the volume.

3-3. Set difficulty

The difficulty setting form will be shown if you select Menu -> Game -> Set difficulty.

Speed: Set the speed level.
Length: This indicates the length of FIFO buffer. 2 is the easiest.
Escalate: Select the game mode. "On" makes it Escalation mode. "Off" makes it 3-column fix mode.
Symbol: Select a symbol. Tap the black triangle then a pop list will be shown as the right-bottom.

3-4. Manage symbols

Symbol Manager form will be shown by tapping Menu -> Game -> Symbol Manager. Select a symbol name in the list and you can see the button layout at the top and information, such as difficulty, at the bottom-right.

Symbols: Select a symbol.
Delete: Delete the selected symbol from the device.
Close: Close this manager.

3-5. Preference

The preference form will be shown if you select Menu -> Options -> Preferences.

Sound on correct answer: A sound is played on a correct answer if this is checked.
Sound on input: Specify if a sound is played on the player's input or not in case of the symbols using sounds.

3-6. Check the highscores

You can check highscore list by tapping on Menu -> Options -> Show highscore.

Clear: Clear the highscore list.
Close: Close this highscore list form.

3-7. Check about FIFO

Tap on Menu -> Options -> About FIFO, and you can check information about FIFO.
