You must install (sync) the required files to your handheld device.  These files are the application (APCodeXX.PRC) and the database (APCodeDB.PDB).  Once APCodes is installed, the icon will show up in your Unfiled category on your handheld.

Languages - Currently there are two language choices for Airport Codes (APCodes).

Language (choose one)Files required (to install on your handheld)
EnglishAPCodeEN.PRC and APCodeDB.PDB
GermanAPCodeDE.PRC and APCodeDB.PDB

Summary: For airport codes to be installed correctly, you must install 2 files, APCodeXX.PRC (where XX = Language) and APCodeDB.PDB, the APCodeDB.PDB file is the same for all languages.

Program Usage & Operation

APCodes is a simple to use application and supports the standard Palm OS® interface.

MainMain Screen - shows a listing of airport codes and their associated city/town. In the lower right corner of the screen you will see the scroll buttons.  You can scroll from screen to screen (12 records per screen) by using the direction arrow in the bottom lower right corner or by using the hardware buttons.

Click on the menu to view search 'Locate' options.  The [i] button in the top right will show you program information (Tips).
Record View Record/View - this screen shows all information for the selected record.  The top right corner shows the region or A/FD (Airport Facilities Directory) location (see Region Codes)  The top left will show the airport code (IATA) and to the right of that will be the ICAO code (if an international airport).  Below that will be the city/town, and State/Country (code).

In the middle of the screen is the field elevation and Latitude and Longitude.  You can click on the field labels for more information about the current field.  The [Quiz Mode] button will allow you to randomly learn airport codes.

The record screen now has an option [Print] to allow you to print the current airport from your handheld.  In order for this feature to work you must download and install PalmPrint or SCS Print Server (http://stevenscreek.com/palm) software on your handheld, once this software is installed then you should be able to use this feature.  There are many configurations that can be used, such as IR (recommended), Serial and PDA (Hotsync Connection) to PC.  Refer to the Stevens Creek Software website and documentation on how to configure these options.
Locate Locate... - You will see the 'Locate A/FD...", 'Locate Airport (City)...','Locate Airport (Name)...', Locate Code (IATA)...' and 'Locate Code (ICAO)...' and 'Locate State (Country)...' options on the main menu.  This feature is used to perform a query for information in the database.  For example: If you were looking for the airport information for London you would select the menu option 'Locate Airport (City)...' then enter 'Lond', click [Find] and see the results screen.  This field is case-sensitive so 'Lond' or 'lond' will give you different results.  Each of the results screens will show 11 records use the up/down hardware button, jog dial or the scroll button in the bottom left to see more records.

Remember: You must enter the correct case for each search.

Region Codes - A/FD Codes

The region codes are used to break up areas into smaller sections; these region codes are the same as the region codes used in the A/FD (Airport and Facilities Directory) or other publications.
