Connect your handheld device to its associated port or cradle on your computer. |

PC USERS: Right-click on the downloaded zip file and select "Extract to folder..." Open the newly created folder. |

2a. Double-click on the "_setup.exe" file. |

2b. Make sure the DataViewer application box and the Database boxes are checked. You may uncheck the DataViewer application box if you already have DataViewer installed on your device. |

2c. PALM™ DEVICES: Click "Install." If you have multiple users on your computer, select a User in the Install Tool window and click "OK." |

2c-i. The full Install Tool window will appear with DataViewer and the selected Database in the file list. Click "Done." Users with storage devices on their handhelds may change the Destination of the file before clicking "Done." Click here for details about Palm OS® storage devices. |

2c-ii. A pop-up window will inform you that the listed file will be added to your handheld the next time you perform a HotSync® operation. Click "OK." |

2c-iii. Press the HotSync® button on your device's port/cradle. The file will transfer from your desktop computer to your handheld. Click here for how to view the product on your handheld. |

2d. POCKET PC DEVICES: Click "Install." DataViewer and the Database file will transfer from your desktop computer to your handheld. |

2d-i. If you already have DataViewer installed on your device, a pop-up window will appear asking if you want to proceed with the re-install. Click "Yes." |

2d-ii. A pop-up window may appear asking if you want to install DataViewer and other pending installations using the default application install directory. Click "Yes." |
| |
2d-iii. A window may pop up to inform you to check your mobile device screen to see if additional steps are necessary to complete the installation. Check your handheld and complete any necessary steps noted on the device's screen. After you are done, click "OK" in the pop-up window on your desktop computer. |

2d-iv. Once the transfer is finished, a pop-up window will notify you that the setup is complete. Click "OK." Click here for how to view the product on your handheld. |

MAC USERS: Uncompress the StuffIt (.sit) file. If you have Stuffit Expander (version 5.5 or later), extract the files to a temporary folder (i.e. while in the Finder, select New Folder from the File menu and name it "temp"). If you do not have Stuffit Expander, you can download it at www.aladdinsys.com. |

3a. PALM™ DEVICES: Open the folder you created after expanding the .sit file. Double-click on the .prc (DataViewer) or .PDB (Database) file. |

3a-i. If you have multiple users on your computer, the Install Tool user selection window will pop up. Select a User in the Install Tool window and click "OK." |

3b. POCKET PC DEVICES: Open ActiveSync® and click on the "Explore" button. Double-click on the "My Pocket PC" icon to open the handheld directory structure. |

3b-i. DATAVIEWER ONLY: Copy the "DataViewer.ARM.CAB" file (from the folder you created after expanding the .sit file) to the root directory of "My Pocket PC." A pop-up window may appear noting that ActiveSync® will need to convert the file. Click "OK." |

3b-ii. DATAVIEWER ONLY: The CAB file is now on the handheld. Go to your handheld and click on the "Start" menu in the top left of the screen and select "Programs," then open "File Explorer." |

3b-iii. DATAVIEWER ONLY: Navigate to the "My Device" directory using the dropdown menu near the top left of the screen. Tap on the "DataViewer.ARM.CAB" file to run the installation. DataViewer will be added to the "Programs" directory. |

3b-iv. DATABASES ONLY: Copy the .PDB file (from the folder you created after expanding the .sit file) to the root directory of "My Pocket PC." A pop-up window may appear noting that ActiveSync® will need to convert the file. Click "OK." NOTE: The .PDB file must be placed within any one of the following directories:In RAM:Root of device\Program Files\Town Compass\*\My Documents\*On a Storage Card:Root of card\Town Compass\*\Programs\Town Compass\\Palm\Launcher\\Palm\Programs\Town Compass\*The Database can be placed in any subdirectory within this directory and DataViewer will still be able to find it. |
