PerfectPitch™ for PocketPC 

Welcome to PerfectPitch™ for PocketPC 2002 and Windows Mobile 2003™ for PocketPC (first and second edition). PerfectPitch™ is a chromatic guitar tuner. It enables you to tune your guitar using the built-in microphone or audio-in jack. We’ve designed it to be every musician’s best friend, while focusing on producing a high-reliability tuner.

2. Installing and launching PerfectPitch

To install PerfectPitch, double-click on the “Setup.exe” file which you have received from your online vendor. PerfectPitch will be installed on your PocketPC.

To start PerfectPitch, launch the application from your PocketPC Launcher.

2. Perfect Pitch Main Window

When you start PerfectPitch, the digital tuner is off;  a tap in the application window will start tuning. Another tap in the application window will stop the tuning.

As a quick referemce, the status bar at the top of the application screen will always indicate whether the tuner is "Off" or "On".

Now, just turn the tuner on, and hit a string (any string). PerfectPitch lets you tune your strings in any order.

PerfectPitch's main window is clearly partitioned.

2.1 Trigger Settings

PerfectPitch features an innovative volume trigger which enables you to "tune out" background noises..

Depending on your input level (and the environmental noise), you can adjust the trigger to request input at a given level. The trigger will filter-out ambiant noises, or noises which volume is below the current setting

2.2 A=440.00 Settings

You can adjust the A reference; for example if you play with other musicians who cannot be in tune. Simply Tap on the "A=440.0" button, and you can adjust the reference A anywhere from 330Hz to 660 Hz.

2.3 Night/Day mode

PerfectPitch allows you to switch between day mode and night mode for improved visibility. To switch between night mode and day mode, simply tap on the [1] or [2] icon in the lower right area of the screen. The Day mode uses the standard view (color display on a black background), while the Night mode use a black display on a white background (for improved visibility at night).

3. Settings Window

You can access this window by tapping 'Settings' in the menu bar. It enables you to change PerfectPitch's settings easily.

3.1 Input

You can select the input depending on your configuration (default is using Microsoft Mixer).  For example, if a microphone is connected to your Pocket PC, you could select audio-input from your Microphone port.

3.2 A=440.00 Settings

You can adjust the A reference; for example if you play with other musicians who cannot be in tune. Simply Tap on the "A=440.0" button, and you can adjust the reference A anywhere from 330Hz to 660 Hz.

3.3 Stop after

This will auto-stop your tuner after a given delay.

4. Main Window Controls

4.1 Night/Day mode

PerfectPitch allows you to switch between a day mode view and a night mode view for improved visibility in variable light situations.The day mode view uses the standard view (color display on a black background), while the night mode views uses a black display on a white background (for improved visibility at night).

To switch between night mode and day mode, simply tap on the [1] or [2] icon in the lower right area of the screen.

4.2 Exiting PerfectPitch

To exit PerfectPitch, just tap on the [x] icon in the upper right corner of the display.

4.3 Trial version limitation

The trial version can only be started 15 times.
