This tutorial will guide you through your first steps in the game.
Plant Tycoon is a gardening sim where you nurture your plants, within a budget, and make them grow and increase in value. The object of this game is to discover the 4 MAGIC PLANTS . Each magic plant will give you permanent enhancements and abilities. You will discover these magic plants by cross-breeding plants and solving the genetic riddle. To finance your research, you will have to sell your discoveries along the way.

   
     
  Requirements and Installation
 
  Operating System: Plant Tycoon requires a Palm OS device running OS verion 5.0 or later.
Memory: 700k available RAM is necessary to install and run the game.
Installation: To install simply remove the "Plant Tycoon.prc" file from the zip, and double-click it, or drag it to your desktop software. 		   
     
  Game Description
 
  The game consists of 4 screens.
The MAIN SCREEN is where you plant, grow, water, and cross-pollinate plants. You will also price them here and mark them for sale. The other 3 screens are accessible by the 3 NAV BUTTONS in the top-left. When you enter each screen for the first time, tips will appear for that screen. The screens are:the SEED MANAGER (for organizing and storing seeds); the SHOP (for buying gardening supplies and chemicals); and the NURSERY (where you will sell some of your creations).		    
     
  The Main Screen
 
     
  PREPARE SOIL
Drag some soil from the TOOL TRAY (in the top-right of the screen) to an empty pot and release it.  
  WATER SOIL
 Drag the watering can from the TOOL TRAY to the same pot and release it. Now you have a pot with soft moist soil in it.  
  PLANT SEED
 Drag a seed from the SEED TRAY (in the top-right under the tool tray) into the same pot. If you select the plant (by clicking on it) its details will show up on the right: you can monitor its health, age, water and maturity. You can cross-pollinate it or gather new seeds from it.  
  REAL TIME ! Now it will take time for this plant to grow.
NOTE:
Remember that in Plant Tycoon, plants will grow whether you are in the game or not-- or even when your Palm OS device is turned off!
You should see a SPROUT within about 10 minutes. 		 
  POLLINATE
 Once one of your plants is fully grown and mature you can pollinate this plant either with itself (POLLINATION) or with another mature plant (CROSS-POLLINATION). Click on the mature plant and you will see that its pollen button (in the bottom-right) is active. Draw pollen from that button to any mature plant, or to itself.  
  HARVEST SEEDS
 In a short time seeds will appear in its seed button. You can drag these seeds directly to a pot with watered soil or to your SEED TRAY (in the top-right of the screen). You can also drag them to the SEED MANAGER NAV BUTTON if there is enough room in the seed boxes.  
  SELL PLANTS
 To get ready to sell a plant click on the PRICE button .The price that appears when a plant is created is your 'best guess' of its value. When you set the price, all you have to do is go to the NURSERY screen and watch if people buy the plant. If nobody buys it it's probably priced too high. If it goes instantly..well you could have gotten more for it. Remember to check the 'For Sale' box if you are really ready to sell it.  
     
  The Seed Manager
 
     
  This is a place for organizing and storing seeds that you have purchased or harvested. Click on any seed to see pictures of its parents. This will help you to be organized and remember which combinations are creating certain seeds. It is important to be well-organized if you ever hope to solve the genetic riddle which is the key to the Magic Plants. .    
     
  The Shop
 
     
  This is the garden supply shop where you can buy supplies, seeds and experimental chemicals for creating and maintaining new breeds of plants. Click on an item to find out more about it and click on "BUY' to buy something. When you upgrade your soil or water it is permanently upgraded and never runs out; when you buy seeds they go to your SEED TRAY (up there in the top-right corner), so there must be space available there; when you buy plant food or special chemicals they always go to slot 3 and 4 in your tool tray, respectively. If there is already a tool there, it will be replaced.
   
     
     
  The Nursery
 
     
  Here you can watch visitors as they browse your plants for sale. If someone buys a plant you will see a "SOLD" sign appear, and your money will increase. If things aren't selling very well, you can either go back to the main screen and lower the price, or increase the number of visitors to your nursery (one way is to buy a decorative fountain). Note that sales of your plants will only occur when you are personally supervising the nursery.    
     
  Magic Plants
 
  Don't forget that the ultimate goal of this tycoon game is to discover the 4 Magic Plants. Each of these plants will give you permanent enhancements and abilities that will bring fortune and fame to your Nursery.

  How to Register
 
  The trial version can be played for free, but there are certain items that are locked.

To register you will need to know your Hotsync ID: run the game, go to the drop-down menus, select help and then select register. Enter your registration code and instantly all the shop items will be unlocked and the game will be fully activated. You will be then eligible for support and enhancements.
