Abstract

DaysBetween calculates the elasped period between 2 dates or 2 times.

• Period between dates can be displayed in years, months, or days.
• Period between times can be displayed in days, hours, or minutes.

System Requirements

Any Palm device running Palm OS2 or higher. DaysBetween is 63 kB.

Program Operation

DaysBetween starts up with a web like home page.

To compute period between 2 dates, tap the Between Dates button.

To compute period between 2 times, tap the Between Times button.

Whichever button you tap, you'll input the 2 events by tapping Event 1 and 2 buttons. Displayed will be standard Palm date/time pick dialog. When 2 date/time events have been entered, the elasped period between events is displayed.

To change units of elasped period, tap the units selector.

When done, tap the OK button to return to program's home page.

Install

Extract all files in daysbetween.zip file to folder of your choice.

On Win32 Systems: Run the install.bat program, which will guide you through the installation process.

On other computer systems (Mac, Linux, etc): You need to Hotsync DaysBetween.prc to your Palm. This file is in the folder ".\bin\". Use the Palm Install utilty, or whatever method you normally use, to install the file to your Palm device.

Uninstall

Use the Palm delete applet, and delete DaysBtwn. On your PC, delete the DaysBetween folder (and all files contained within). No other changes were made to your Palm device or PC.

Source Code

You do not need the source code to install and use DaysBetween. It's provided only for you interested in seeing how easy it is to turn your ideas into PDA applications. All source code is contained in folder ".\source_code\". You can examine CSL, CPK, and CFF files with any text editor, such as NotePad. To modify DaysBetween program, you'll need the CASLide development tool. The program stays within the demo compiler limits. DaysBetween.cpj is the project file.
